Fundraising Events & Activities
Wodonga Diamonds boasts the best grounds and facilities in our local area and is classed as a ‘premier’ facility by the Wodonga City Council. However, this comes at a much greater cost to our club than other clubs. Fundraising is a major source of revenue for the club and assits us in meeting our operating and maintenance expenses.
Fundraising activites will continue throughout the season. We will do our best to keep you up to date with what is happening and when, but it is up to you, the member, to pitch in, participate and support your club. A big thankyou to all that have already helped and to those that have put their hands up to assist us throughout the year in raising some much needed funds for our club.
If you have any ideas (anything at all, large or small) for social or fundraising events please contact a Committee member, or if you have any free time in which to assist (even if only for one hour) please speak with a Committee member to find out what is happening and when and how you can help.

Blackadder 2 - Friday 15 July 2011
Our ‘Blackadder’ fundraising night was a great success! For those that attended...thankyou and for those who couldn’t get there....You missed a fabulous show! A big thank you to Lisa Cullen for organising the event.
Bunnings Wodonga BBQ – 7 May 2011
A big thank you to Prue Quick and Alyson Byrnes for securing the spot for Diamonds the day before Mother’s Day. The Club raised over $1100 for the day, sold over 400 sausages and cooked up 10kg of onions!
Night Amongst the Stars - 18 March 2011
Held at the Carriers Arms, a great night was had by all in attendance and it was also a great opportunity for new, existing and previous players, coaches and members to catch up.
Junior Disco - 11 March 2011
This event was such a success that we have been asked by our junior members to do it again! So watch this space for a mid-year Junior Disco event.
Ongoing fundraising activities
Canteen
Canteen sales are a major source of funding for the club. Any time you can offer to assist in staffing the canteen is greatly appreciated. Prue Quick coordinates the canteen roster on behalf of the club.
A reminder to all teams about canteen duty:
- Each team is to provide one or two parents – half an hour before each team plays (and an hour afterwards if at all possible). You will only have to serve at the counter or do simple food preparation tasks under supervision – no cooking.
- Training will be provided and calculators are available. Assistance is greatly appreciated. Contact your team managers if you have any queries.
Our Club Our Future – ‘Buy a Brick’

Friday Night Raffles at the Carriers Arms
This is an ongoing fundraising event which occurs every Friday night between 6 – 7.15pm at the Carriers Arms Hotel, Church St Wodonga. Each week there are six meat trays (from Beazley’s Meats Wodonga), two prawn trays (from Borella Rd Seafood, Albury) and 2 fruit & vege boxes (from Arnold’s Wodonga) raffled off and a chance at the JACKPOT every week. Tickets are two rows for $5. It is a great night, children are extremely welcome at the Carriers and the food is reasonably priced and delicious for those that wish to have a meal whilst there! What more could you ask for! Please continue to come down to the Carriers each week to support our Club, have a meal or drink with friends and to meet new members of our Club.

Diamonds key rings have been given to all members of the club. If you have not received a key ring please let either Rosemary or Barb know.
