Welcome to Small Sided Football for 2012!
For the new families welcome to Diamonds, I reckon you have made a great choice of club. Families with kids involved in older age groups would have been hard at work with training and already completed the first 2 weeks of competition. It’s now time for us to involve the younger kids and get them playing as well.
In 2012 kids who are playing in the U 11’s are not required to play SSF first, but are very welcome to play! If your child is playing with the U 11’s and would also like to play SSF could you please let me know and we will keep you on our list and make sure they are put in a team? Also, if your child intends on training with us that would be good to know as well.
Small sided training will be held on Thursday nights from 5:00 – 6:00 pm at Latrobe. The first session will start Thursday 29th March 5:00 - 6:00pm.
What to Bring:
- Shin pads
- Active clothing to run around in
* Remember to put names on all your belongings so we can get them back to the correct families.
The main goal of the training sessions will be to let the kids have fun and get to know each other while learning the basics of football. All of the coaches involved in SSF have undertaken either Grassroots, Junior or Youth certificate training courses within the last year and are all keen to apply the most recent ideas into developing the next generation of footballers.
Gala Day - Sat 21st April, Kelly Park (Lawrence Street, Wodonga)

Twin City will also be holding the weekly games for Wodonga starting on the 28th April. The final details have not been confirmed as yet but it looks as if we will be running 3 age groups 6/7, 8/9 and 10’s. Once again we will keep you in the loop once AWFA confirm the details.
If there is anything else you would like to know or discuss please don’t hesitate to contact me. Otherwise I’ll see you on Thursday 29th March for the first training session.

Grand Final Draw & Site Map
Another great weekend of football has just passed! Diamonds had five teams in the semi finals vying for spots in the grand final (U10, U14, U14G, U16 & Snr Men) - all teams played fantastic games and the support from members was also fantastic!
Of these five teams, three have gained places in the Grand Final this coming Sunday 11 September - namely U10, U16 & Snr Men.
PLEASE come along and show your support for these fantastic teams in the grand final.
Again I would like to mention that it was a great effort to have all our teams in the finals and to have five teams progress to the semi's was also a tremendous feat in itself.
The Carriers will be staying open late on Sunday night to enable all Diamond members and supporters to celebrate the end of the season together which in anyone's books has been truly amazing!
